- Information about MC Sports store    MC Sports had its start as Michigan Clothiers in 1946 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They sold mens clothing, military surplus items and recreational products. In the early 1960's they shifted the emphasis to focus completely on quality sports equipment, footwear and apparel. Stores were opened throughout Michigan, in Chicago and Cleveland. In 1987 MC purchased Morrie Mages Sports in Chicago. In 1989, Browns Sporting Goods of Peoria Illinois was acquired to add 19 additional stores to the company's base. Throughout the 1990's the Company continued to expand through acquisition amd new store. MC Sports entered the Kansas City market in 1991, and has added stores throughout Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana.
